ProjecTravel Magazine to Launch – T-20d and counting
Hi everyone,
Today we announced on the main projectravel.com site that the first portion of the portal will be going live on July 1st – the projecTravel Magazine. We’ve been working very hard to get something together that will not only be special but will make us stand out from the rest of the online travel mags out there, and I think once we go live you guys will be pleasantly surprised.
That said, it’s still going to be a beta release – meaning we will be tweaking little things here and there to make not only the functionality of the mag better for all our readers but to add features, categories and all sorts of other goodies that we hope will make it not only unique but also get the readers and projecTravel community excited about our future products.
That’s more or less it for this weekly update, and if you still haven’t – then join our group on facebook, and if you have a spare moment – take our city guides survey.
Thanks a million,
Management
Weekly Update – We’ve moved
For those of you who came to the projectravel site over the weekend you’ll know there were some blips on the radar, and things weren’t working like they should have been. This is because we moved hosts, had to re-upload everything, and reset everything end overall it was just a nuisance, but now we’ve gotten ourselves onto a better server so things should run more smoothly from now on.
Other than that not much to report, just working like crazy and trying to get everything sorted before we launch the magazine. Also, we would greatly appreciate it if you would take our survey, it’s only 5 questions and shouldn’t take more than a few minutes to complete. It can be found here. That’s it for this week’s update.
Best,
Management.
Weekly Update – Content & Development
Quick update on the state of things at projecTravel. Firstly, content has been coming in and we’re getting some exceptionally good material from all over the place, if this keeps up, we can expect the launch of the Magazine to be really exceptional, content wise. On the development side of things, we’re digging through, and looking at, and writing code to get the look of the website just right and make the current readers of the blog, and future users of the site feel at home. Progress is being made on this end as well, and we should be ready for launch of the magazine – coming soon!
Is there anything else to say? There is, but we’re keeping it under wraps for the time being, no need to spill all the beans before launch.
Work on projecTravel.com Mag has started!
This Monday the 18th of May 2009 will see the first meeting of the editorial team of the projecTravel magazine. We’ve put together the team and from the looks of it it’s a strong one with plenty of publishing and online magazine experience.
As such, we’re looking to launch the travel magazine of the portal prior to the height of the summer holiday season and if all goes according to plan should have the thing out the door within the next 45 days – though don’t hold us to it just yet – we’ll keep you guys concurrently updated as to our progress over the coming months.
Some of the features you can look forward to in the coming magazine are adventure travel, city breaks, dedicated city travel guides that omit the obvious (i.e. when in Paris you have to see the Eiffel Tower) and an ongoing coverage of environmentally friendly and ecological travel. Mind you this is just a bit of what we’ve got slated for the beginning, but sure ‘nuff we don’t want to give away the whole shebang.
But if you are interested and want to help, we could use it. We are still looking for contributors, so if you know anyone who would like to write for us let them know, and we are also on the lookout for any good photos you or your mates may have. If they get published you get all the credit – I mean hey, we’d like to do more for you, but we’re starting this thing on financial fumes in the midst of a global recession. But… if you want to help out, send photos and articles to submissions@projectravel.com.
Weekly Update – Featured on Careermee.com
We’ve taken an executive and have decided to keep you guys updated weekly with the internal happenings of the ProjecTravel website – this includes places where we’ve been featured, the current state of development and other juicy tidbits about where we’ve been lately. So I suppose, let’s begin.
* As of today, we’re being featured on the Careermee.com blog – Careermee is CareerMee.com provides an exclusive recruitment marketplace that brings together business leaders and major global recruiters. They strive to simplify executive-level recruitment for all parties, by providing a single place for top corporations and executive search firms to source passive candidates. They’ve recently been doing a lot of work to talk about MBA’s and the current state of things in the MBA world. The site was started by a fellow alumnus of Jacek, one Florian Behn upon graduation from the ESADE Business School in 2008. If you’re a MBA grad, check them out – in this economy any vehicle to help you get a job is a good one, and Careermee is truly an innovative plaftorm in the field.
* Work on the magazine is going smoothly and we really should be able to deliver an exceptional product for you guys by the height of summer holiday season. The response to out initial contributors has been overwhelmingly positive, but we still need more, so if you are interested in writing for us, send an e-mail to submissions@projectravel.com
* As you know we also presented the concept in Barcelona at ESADE and IESE. Both venues proved not only informative in regards to the questions that were asked by the students, but the attendance numbers were exceptional – we even heard through the grape vine that there were more students at our presentation than at the presentation of a large multinational financial services firm. Must be something about that omitted T in our logo.
Aside from that, not much else on the radar, just long hours and plenty of work going into the site. See you guys on the flip side. – The PT Team
